Path three: Programs

There are some programs specifically dedicated to hiring individuals to teach English abroad; they just require some browsing and verification of authenticity. I recommend programs because they make the process simpler (less individualistic) and give you the option of traveling with others.

Below, I will be discussing two reputable programs that I've been recommended.

EPIK, the English Program in Korea, was set up by the Korean Government’s Ministry of Education in 1995. Since then, they have been recruiting teachers to improve the English speaking capabilities of the Korean population. With this program, candidates will assist Korean English teachers with classes, jointly conduct English class, or conduct their own.
I have a personal friend who underwent this program with Gone2Korea, and he highly recommends it.

Another program that was recommended by my Fellowship Advisor was JET, Japan Exchange & Teaching program.
The JET Program is quite competitive though; they normally receive 4,000-5,000 applications a year, and have 1,000-1,100 positions available.
Eligibility and application is thoroughly written out on their website, which you can click through on the image above.

My highest recommendation, though, is to undergo a program with TEFL certification, as I talked about in path one.
With this method, acceptance into a program would be higher.
Specifically for Korea, public schools have set salary rates that increase with the number of credentials one has. But nonetheless, going through with a program will lessen the variables for a candidate to be concerned with.
